Aloha Hawaii Republican Party Members,

I hope this message finds you all well. As we reflect on the recent weeks filled with dedication and hard work, from our Presidential Caucus to our State Convention, I want to take a moment to address the entire body and share some important updates.

Firstly, it's undeniable that our recent State Convention has stirred up various opinions. An unsolicited survey was circulated among a limited number of delegates; I want to clarify that this survey was not sanctioned by the Hawaii Republican Party. We have noted individuals acting independently, and sometimes contrary to the party’s best interests, seemingly driven by a a goal to create discord within our party. This behavior does not represent the spirit of our party.

Despite these challenges, our convention was a success. We may not have achieved everything everyone wanted, but we accomplished some great things. We approved platforms and resolutions, honored our departed Republicans, elected our National Committeeman and Committeewoman, and facilitated robust delegate participation. This year’s convention showed marked improvement over past conventions, which were marred by exclusions, improper delegate appointments, and even physical altercations—none of which occurred at our 2024 convention.

There was some disappointment expressed over the absence of a parliamentarian, but our rules do not require one. Conversations with other States have confirmed that this practice varies. Nonetheless, it’s encouraging to see several individuals stepping forward to become licensed parliamentarians, broadening our future capabilities and options.

Unfortunately, yesterday was a mixed day. My husband’s character was unjustly attacked on social media; rest assured, we are investigating these allegations thoroughly. We hope these actions are not connected to party members or recent party activities. Such tactics, aimed at undermining party leaders and their families, are becoming all too common nationally.

On a more strategic note, the party has committed to enhanced transparency. In light of this, I am planning to host speakers to address critical issues we face, mirroring national trends. Topics will include the dangers of infiltrators, the impact of paid agitators, and the misuse of legal and procedural tactics to weaken us. These sessions promise to be enlightening for all.

Yesterday also brought positive developments. According to bylaw section 215G, the delegates and alternates officially appointed committee roles for the 2024 National Convention:

Platforms: Mark White and Mary Smart
Rules: Adrienne King and Braedon Wilkerson
Credentials: Steve Yoder and Mele Song Song
Permanent Organization: Greg Lussier and Laura Nakanelua
Delegation Chair: Shirlene Ostrav

Regarding inquiries about how leaders from other Presidential campaigns were allowed as delegates, I recommend contacting the Trump Campaign Chair, Shirlene Ostrav, for clarity.

Looking ahead to the National Convention, the impending sale of the building, and our promise of increased transparency and involvement, I am optimistic about our collective future. It’s not solely up to the leadership; unity and progress require the active participation of every one of us.

I am committed to continuing my work for the people, state, constitution, President Donald Trump, and the country, as I have always done. I also look forward to launching a podcast to address pressing and celebratory topics, featuring various guests to enrich our discussions.

Together, let's step forward in unity and responsibility for the betterment of our state and country.

Mahalo,

Tamara McKay
State Chair, Hawaii Republican Party

------------------------------------------------------------

It is with sadness the have learned of the recent news of the passing of Chief Maui Loa, a revered leader and cherished member of our community. The Hawaii Republican Party extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

His recent participation at our event in honor of Prince Kuhio was a testament to his dedication to sharing his insights and preserving the heritage of our islands. We were truly fortunate to have him grace us with his presence and illuminate our gathering with his profound reflections.
