National Police Week
I am thankful for everything our law enforcement officers do to keep us safe. In honor of National Police Week and Peace Officers Memorial Day, I want to take a moment to honor those brave local, state, and federal law enforcement officers who serve on the front lines to protect us from harm. To our law enforcement officers, I extend my deepest gratitude for all you do. If you are out and about this week and see a police officer, please be sure to tell them thank you.
This week, I was honored to join with District Attorney Bubba Bramlett to host a breakfast and lunch to honor our law enforcement officers.
This week, I introduced legislation to support and honor our law enforcement officers across the United States. I’m proud to lead this legislation alongside Representatives Julia Letlow (LA-05), Chris Pappas (NH-01), and Abigail Spanberger (VA-07). With over 80 bipartisan cosponsors of the legislation, Congress is demonstrating our support for law enforcement and that we honor those who lost their lives in the line of duty. A copy of the resolution is available here.
Police officers are the heroes of our communities, protecting us from crime and defending innocent citizens from those who seek to do harm. I am honored to lead legislation that expresses support for our law enforcement officers and pays tribute to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Watch my statement here:
I also spoke on the House Floor this week to express my heartfelt appreciation for our law enforcement community. My floor speech is below:
Attending Committee on Homeland Security Hearing on State and Local Law Enforcement
I participated in a hearing on how Congress can support law enforcement. I will always stand with those who protect our communities and put their lives on the line each and every day. Check out the hearing here:
Poll Results from Last Week
Last week, I asked for your input on the unrest on college campuses in support of Palestine. Of those who responded, 91 percent are disturbed by the Palestinian protests. We must always stand with Israel, and I am proud that Mississippians overwhelmingly support Israel.
