Did you know that the Blue Dogs represent some of the largest congressional districts in the country?
Our co-chair Mary Peltola is Alaska’s at-large representative, meaning that she represents the entire state. At 663,268 square miles, Alaska is the largest state in the country - larger than all but 18 countries in the world!
Because of its size and immense natural beauty, there are some parts of Alaska that can only be reached by plane, meaning that if Mary wants to get out and see her constituents, it takes a few more resources than someone who can just walk down the block.
On the other side of the country, our co-chair Jared Golden represents Maine’s 2nd district, which is the largest district east of the Mississippi River.
Like Mary in Alaska, there are parts of his district that are extremely difficult to reach - over 5 hours away from each other by drive - but Jared’s been committed to reaching out to all of his constituents across the 2nd District.
With districts like these, our Blue Dogs need more resources than your average representatives in order to communicate with their constituents. It takes real time and effort to reach voters whether it's with mailers or a knock on their door.
With your help, we can connect directly with every voter in competitive districts like these, because every voter can make a difference.
Thanks, friend,
