John,
I am so excited to see the Marylanders uniting behind Angela Alsobrooks to be our next US Senator — and the leader of that movement is our friend Ben! I wanted to make sure you saw the email he sent yesterday. And more importantly, I hope I can count on you to join us in supporting Angela and Democrats up and down the ticket!
If Republican Larry Hogan wins this November, he would tip the balance of power in the US Senate to Republicans and they would get to control the agenda. That means a nationwide abortion ban, extreme right-wing judges, and repeal of environmental protection laws.
Please check out the note from Senator Cardin below and chip in what you can to support Angela and the coordinated campaign.
Elevate,
Wes Moore

Dear John,
I was born and raised in Baltimore. I know what it means to be a Marylander – we run on grit, determination and Old Bay. So when I made the personal decision not to run for re-election, I was confident that Marylanders would choose the best person to represent our great state next in the United States Senate.
Who takes this seat matters. Our democracy matters. The health of the Chesapeake Bay matters. Quality education matters. Restoring and codifying reproductive rights matters.
Your vote matters. Who wins in November in Maryland will determine if Democrats keep the majority in the United States Senate, or more civil rights will be put in jeopardy because of extremist judges and lawmakers.
Because this race matters so much, I promise you that I will work just as hard to get Angela Alsobrooks elected as I did to win those 36 elections that allowed me to serve in the House of Delegates, U.S. House of Representatives, and the U.S. Senate.
Angela will fight to make sure our children have clean water to drink and clean air to breathe. She will continue fighting for small businesses to expand and grow all across Maryland. She will stand up for the Chesapeake Bay and for the expansion of mental and behavioral health. Angela will be a champion for women’s rights, reproductive rights, and public safety. She will work every day to make sure our shared Maryland values are at the forefront of this campaign and will guide her work in the U.S. Senate.
Please join me today in supporting Angela Alsobrooks by making a contribution to our coordinated effort to elect her this November.
There is too much at stake this year to sit on the sidelines. We are one seat away from a Republican majority in the United States Senate and a national ban on abortion rights. The balance of power comes down to the voters of Maryland.
Reproductive freedom is on the ballot twice this November. It’s not just about enshrining women’s rights to abortion care in the Maryland Constitution, it’s about a Republican Senate candidate who has a life-long history of denying women access to abortion. The choice could not be clearer.
It’s been the honor of my life to represent the people of Maryland over these many years. Each of you has been an important part of this journey and I want to express my utmost thanks for your support over the years.
For me, there is no greater calling than public service anchored in integrity and civility. I have always tried to listen to people, understand their problems and then work with them to find a solution. I know Angela shares this same commitment and will work tirelessly every day for all Marylanders.
This election could not be more important , for you, for me, and for our children and grandchildren. We have our nominee. Now, we must come together to elect her to the United States Senate.
Please contribute to our effort today. We can’t do this without you.
