We have
some good news, some bad news, and some outright dirty news for you:
The good: Under President Biden, America has seen record federal
investment in infrastructure. Yay!
The bad: Much of that investment is going to car-centric infrastructure
like roads and bridges. Boo!
The dirty: A couple of states are going out of their way to spend more
money on car-centric infrastructure and neglecting public transit
services. Texas is spending $12 billion to widen I-45; meanwhile, Alabama
is spending only 1% of the $168 million they got from the infrastructure
bill on mass transit.^1
Thankfully, Democrats in Congress are stepping up and introducing the
Build Green Act to invest federal dollars specifically toward green
transportation. 💪
We’re going
to fight like hell to get the Build Green Act passed — but we’re going to
need your help. [ [link removed] ]Can you chip in $3 to build our movement
for green transportation today?

The Build Green Act would spend $500 billion over 10 years to address our
nation’s largest source of greenhouse gas pollution: transportation.
And that includes $150 billion in funding for subways, light rail, and bus
rapid transit. We love 🚇, 🚆, and 🚌!
Look — if states won’t do it, we’ll do it on the federal level. [ [link removed] ]If you
want hundreds of billions of dollars of federal investment in clean
transportation, will you chip in to help us pass the Build Green Act
today?
