The Supreme Court upheld Louisiana’s new congressional map with two majority-Black districts, giving voters a fairer map to use this November.
This is a HUGE victory for voters not just in Louisiana, but across the country.
Republicans tried and failed to toss out this map and push forth a map that likely violated the Voting Rights Act — and now, the path to securing a Democratic House majority could run through the Bayou State.
Just like in Groundwork’s target state Alabama, this win for a fairer congressional map comes after months of community organizing to ensure Black voters get the representation they deserve.
