Every day, we see catastrophic and fast-deteriorating hunger conditions in
northern Gaza, and more than 1.1 million people are at risk of starvation.
Our team members report tents stretched endlessly under scorching sun with
no relief in sight and no electricity, water, or aid. During a recent
heatwave, a five-year-old girl tragically died in her tent due to extreme
heat. One colleague shared, "Al Mawasi is currently full of insect-borne
diseases, with people living crowded in tents and outdoors. The conditions
there are beyond tragic and defy description."
I am so grateful for our
incredibly generous community of supporters who have come through for
families in Gaza and so many others facing conflict, disaster, and hunger
around the world.
But this is a crisis like we’ve never seen before — hunger is being
weaponized, and no place is safe.
As the crisis continues to spiral, I’m asking each and every member of our
community to show up in full force. A group of generous donors have
contributed $33,000 to our Emergency Response Matching Gift Challenge Fund
to encourage others to match their donations. [ [link removed] ]Will you make a

Mercy Corps is providing critical assistance in Gaza — stocking
warehouses, like the one pictured above, full of food and essential items.
To date, we have distributed over 40,100 food baskets and over 19,900
hygiene kits.
However, constant bombardments, limited border crossings, and destroyed
roads and infrastructure continue to make it impossible to provide the
scale of aid that is needed.
We
will continue to fight for a sustained ceasefire, an end to the siege, and
the ability to massively scale up humanitarian assistance.
Your gift will help fuel our
work in Gaza, Haiti, Ukraine, and 40+ countries where civilians are caught
in the midst of conflict and disaster. [ [link removed] ]Help us meet our $33,000
Emergency Response Matching Gift Challenge goal so our work can go 2X as
far for families in need — please make your gift now ▸
Sincerely,
Tjada D’Oyen McKenna,
Mercy Corps Chief Executive Officer
