Friends,
The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic is testing every system, both public and private, in our country and around the world. But most importantly, it is testing our solidarity.
I'm keeping you and your family in my heart as I fight to ensure that families all over this country receive the protections and support they need to weather this storm. But unfortunately, President Trump and some of my colleagues across the aisle have not demonstrated the solidarity or the leadership we need at this critical moment.
From the beginning of this crisis, the president has repeatedly played down the threat of the coronavirus and failed to heed the advice of medical experts. He has insulted governors and health care professionals who are working hard to get what they need to save lives. His administration has failed to provide the level of testing that experts say is essential to controlling this outbreak, the protective equipment for our doctors and nurses on the front lines or the lifesaving ventilators for those in critical care.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: President Trump is a habitual offender. And his reckless handling of this pandemic further demonstrates that he will not let the safety of the American people get in the way of his own selfish motives.
House Democrats are working hard to provide critical assistance for the working families and small businesses that will be hit hardest by this crisis. We've just passed $2.2 trillion in relief assistance, and we're preparing to pass additional legislation to address the unprecedented scale of this emergency. This moment demands we come together – as one nation – to ensure that no one is left behind.
I hope you and your family are holding up, friends. I'm sure you've been following the news closely and have your own thoughts about the pandemic and the leadership that has brought us to this moment. That's why, with so much going on, I want to check in with you and see what you're thinking. Before this survey expires at midnight, please tell me:
Do you think President Trump is doing enough to address this pandemic?

In times of crisis, the ties that bind us to each other are strong, and we must do all that we can to safeguard our families, neighbors, and communities.
Thank you for taking a moment to share your thoughts.
