This is actually crazy, John.

You probably already heard about that out-of-touch speech from Chiefs
kicker Harrison Butker. You might not have heard that Josh Hawley is
already defending it:

[ [link removed] ]Journalist Gregg Palermo: Sen. Josh Hawley, who shared a convention
stage in Springfield with Harrison Butker in April, defended Butker's
message delivered in a weekend commencement speech. Excerpts from the
speech + article: 'Things like abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as
well as a growing supporting for the degenerate culture values and media
all stem from pervasiveness of disorder;' During the speech, Butker later
addressed the women in the audience, arguing that their 'most important
title' should be that of 'homemaker.'

It’s not surprising, exactly.

We already knew Hawley was a leader in the fight to criminalize
reproductive rights in our country. After all, his corrupt family business
led the charge to overturn Roe v. Wade AND the effort to ban the abortion
pill mifepristone all the way up to the Supreme Court. Hawley himself even
pioneered the legal arguments that led to shutdowns of IVF clinics in
Alabama earlier this year.

His obsession with “manhood” and “masculinity” have been pretty obvious
too. Just take the weird book he published last year, “Manhood: The
Masculine Virtues America Needs” — his attempt to convince all of
America’s men that they should be made in his own creepy image.

But now, Hawley’s standing by Butker’s attack on working women.

Speech Attacking Working Women While Quoting Taylor Swift. Tweet from
Lucas: Butker basically quoting his friend Josh Hawley's Manhood book,
where Josh wrote: 'Home is a promise given to a husband, made possible
only by a wife.'

[ [link removed] ]DEFEAT JOSH HAWLEY

This guy wants to control every little thing about our lives — what we do
in the workplace, in the bedroom, and in the doctor’s office. He even
wants to be in charge of what we do with our own bodies.

It’s weird. It’s creepy. And it’s sure as hell not his job.

I’m running to replace Hawley in the U.S. Senate because I believe
everyday people should have the power to make decisions about their own
lives without some control-obsessed politician or elite getting in the
way. That’s a message that resonates with Missourians of all parties, all
across the state.

But if we’re going to reach every Missouri voter about our people-powered
campaign between now and November 5, I need your help.

[ [link removed] ]So
John,
will you chip in $10 or whatever feels right to you today so
we can get this message in front of voters, defeat Hawley, and take back
power for working people this year?

Hawley thinks he can get away with attacking women, workers, and anyone
else he thinks poses a threat to his corrupt status quo.

This year, we’re holding him accountable.

Thanks for all your help,

Lucas
