Why are some people talking about VAERS reports of infant deaths follow RSV vaccines?

VAERS reports ( [link removed] ) did not find infant deaths after getting an RSV vaccine.

About Those VAERS Reports of Infant Deaths Following RSV Vaccines

It turns out that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr ( [link removed] ) 's Children’s Health Defense (CHD) "filed Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for communications related to two reports of infant deaths following the accidental administration of the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine."

[link removed] Even though the CDC says the reports aren't real, they are both still in VAERS.

And they found that the VAERS reports ( [link removed] ) , with very little added information, were not accurate and were not actually of infants who had died after getting an RSV vaccine.

Is that surprising?

> "VAERS accepts and analyzes reports of adverse events (possible side effects) after a person has received a vaccination. Anyone can report an adverse event to VAERS. Healthcare professionals are required to report certain adverse events and vaccine manufacturers are required to report all adverse events that come to their attention."

Remember, VAERS is a "passive reporting system" and "is not designed to determine if a vaccine caused a health problem, but is especially useful for detecting unusual or unexpected patterns of adverse event reporting that might indicate a possible safety problem with a vaccine."

I don't think anti-vaccine influencers ( [link removed] ) remember or maybe care how VAERS works though...

[link removed] Their FOIA actually showed that the two infant deaths in VAERS were not caused by RSV vaccines, but that doesn't stop Paul Thomas ( [link removed] ) from talking about a "fatal vaccine reaction."

They still seemed to be concerned about these VAERS deaths, even though the reports were obviously a mistake.

[link removed] The seemingly fake reports of infant deaths in VAERS is getting laundered though all of the usual anti-vaccine propaganda ( [link removed] ) sites.

And they are so concerned about infants dying, that they are scaring parents ( [link removed] ) away from getting vaccinated and protected against RSV - a big killer of newborns and infants!

[link removed] Nearly 100 children under the age of 12 months die with RSV each year in the United States - deaths that can be prevented with our RSV vaccines ( [link removed] ) .

How does that make sense?

RSV Vaccination Mistakes

What about the idea that the CDC, FDA, and providers are ignoring vaccination mistakes.

> "As of January 17, 2024, the number of reports received by VAERS suggests that these types of errors are uncommon in young children less than 2 years of age (25 reports) and pregnant people (128 reports) relative to an estimated 1 million infants protected from RSV either through infant receipt of nirsevimab or through vaccination of pregnant people."

Although uncommon, these types of vaccine errors ( [link removed] ) should never happen and warnings and alerts have been issued to help prevent them from continuing to occur.

The errors are not being ignored.
