Dear Friend,

I want to share with you some highlights from the busy year we had at EPPC in 2023. As you’ll see in our Annual Report, our scholars and programs spent the year shaping policy and renewing culture true to our founding principles: “a continuous effort to relate the facts of a policy decision to its economic, political, and human costs and consequences.” I hope you'll take the time to read the whole report, but here are some of the most exciting ways EPPC has made a difference to the future of freedom in America:

EPPC Highlights from 2023
  • Our program on Bioethics and American Democracy provided expert witness training to 92 medical professionals, published eight briefing documents on various aspects of abortion, and supported litigation in two federal court cases contesting government censorship of physicians.
  • Five states enacted legislation based on proposals from our Technology and Human Flourishing Project, with the Governor of Utah citing the Project’s work.
  • Our HHS Accountability Project prevented the Biden administration from promoting abortion and gender ideology, intervening in 14 proposed rules and submitting 19 amicus briefs.
  • Reaching a combined audience of over 13,000, our Person and Identity Project conducted presentations and policy consultations for churches, dioceses, religious schools, and other faith-based organizations on dealing with the challenges of gender ideology.
  • Our Education and American Ideals program produced model legislation that was signed into law in Florida preventing political tests for university faculty and promoting campus intellectual diversity.
  • We launched the Richard John Neuhaus Fellowship as our first investment in a new generation of socially conservative scholars.
