Join us this Saturday for outdoor fun

Got plans this Saturday? How about adding some outdoor fun to your day?

*Saturday, May 18 is Free Fishing and Park Entry Day*, the one day each year when you *don't need a permit to fish or to visit any Nebraska state park area.*

Anglers will still need to observe all fishing regulations, of course ? and camping, lodging and all other fees will still apply at state park areas. But this is a great chance to give fishing a try, or to visit somewhere you've always wanted to see.

To celebrate, we're hosting *tons of free events on Saturday*, including:

* Fish Fest at the C [ [link removed] ]: Celebrate family, friends and fun with this beginner- and family-friendly fishing event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Lake Cunningham in Omaha. Remember, no fishing permit is needed.
* Naturalist activities: Come learn something new at Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area. The park will have a bird outing at 9 a.m., followed by a Wildflower Walk at 10 a.m. and Critter Corner at 11 a.m.
* Kids' Fishing Day: Kids ages 16 and younger can fish the pond at Ash Hollow State Historical Park and keep what they catch. A hot dog lunch will be served from 1-3 p.m.
* Bill Morris Fishing Derby: Join us at Ponca State Park for a fishing derby for anglers of all ages. Prizes will be awarded!

Find more details and events like these at the link below.

And, if you have a blast on Saturday and decide you're ready for a whole year's worth of experiences like these ? visit our website [ [link removed] ] to pick up an annual park entry permit or fishing permit, which is good for the rest of 2024.?
