Jack, Daily Kos is one of a kind.
We sit at the crossroads of news and activism—not just reporting on what's happening, but providing you with the tools to take action and make change on the stories you're reading. That alone would make us unique, but that's not all.
Alongside the news and the activism, Daily Kos has a large and active online community. People can comment on a story on almost any news site, but at Daily Kos they can write their own stories, form their own groups, help determine which content gets more views, and more.
On top of all that, Daily Kos is grassroots funded. Over 60 percent of our income comes from small donors, which keeps us accountable to you, rather than to advertisers, a large corporate overlord, or an individual billionaire backer.
Because of all this, there's something I want you to keep in mind: If Daily Kos were to disappear tomorrow, there would be nothing to take our place because no one else brings together news, activism, and community like we do.
Unfortunately, Daily Kos is in real trouble. As ad revenue has declined, grassroots donations have come to make up more than 60 percent of our income. Now, those donations have started coming up short in recent months. That's why I'm asking you to please take one minute right now and donate $5.
PLEASE DONATE
Thank you,
Michael Langenmayr, Daily Kos
