The Colorado Republican Party is proud to endorse conservative warrior Ron Hanks for Colorado Congressional District 3.

The Colorado State Republican Party Officially Endorses Ron Hanks for the Congressional District 3

Today, the Colorado Republican Party is proud to announce our endorsement of Fmr. State Representative Ron Hanks in the Republican Primary election for Colorado's 3rd Congressional District. Our main criteria for choosing to endorse Ron Hanks is his higher likelihood of defeating the radical Democrat, Adam Frisch, in the general election.

While the Party would ultimately support whichever candidate wins the Republican Primary election, we have grave concerns about the other major contenders in this race.

Jeff Hurd’s original and problematic reason for running was to challenge conservative stalwart, Lauren Boebert, while promising to move the district in a leftward moderate direction.

Additionally, Hurd refuses to commit to voting for President Donald J. Trump in the 2024 general election, which is especially concerning with his ties to an open borders organization, Americans for Prosperity, that also raised 70 million dollars to defeat President Trump in the presidential primary. These issues combined with his refusal to gain ballot access through the grassroots caucus and assembly process makes Jeff Hurd a poor candidate to be our Party’s standard-bearer in CD3.

Stephen Varela is also someone we cannot endorse because of his refusal to disclose key issue positions and any possible history of criminal or ethics violations beyond what has already been reported.

Furthermore, Varela refused to be transparent with Colorado Republicans after we invited him to explain why he switched Parties so many times to become a Democrat throughout the years while apparently working to defeat Lauren Boebert and President Trump in 2020 as a registered Democrat.

Varela hiding his apparent opposition to President Trump (and likely support of Joe Biden in 2020) along with his refusal to answer critical questions about pro-life policy, the Second Amendment, and securing our border makes him much more likely to be defeated by Adam Frisch through his inability to convince voters that he is the best choice for CD3, especially with libertarians vowing to run a spoiler candidate against him as well as Jeff Hurd.

Ron Hanks not only answered the Party’s questions, but he also proudly published his answers for the public to see.

Ron Hanks has a proven record of defending taxpayers as a conservative warrior.

Ron Hanks will secure the border, cut out-of-control taxes and spending, protect the unborn, defend the Second Amendment, and enthusiastically support our 2024 Republican Presidential Nominee, President Donald J. Trump.

The Colorado Republican Party especially appreciates his work on election integrity and border security as the two go hand in hand. Ron Hanks knows we won’t have a country unless we stop the invasion at the southern border or ensure fair elections where only legal paper ballots are cast after a verified ID check.

The Colorado Republican Party encourages all CD3 Republicans and Unaffiliated voters to vote for Ron Hanks in the Republican Primary on June 25th.

For Freedom,
Colorado Republican Party

*Please note, Chairman Dave Williams and Secretary Anna Ferguson recused themselves from the endorsement decision process for CD3. GOP Vice-Chairwoman Hope Scheppelman, GOP Events Chairman Eric Grossman, and GOP Rules Chairman Keith Maines made the decision on who to endorse.
