Chuck Schumer took a strong stand recently on the GOP shopping court cases to the judges they want, John, and it brought light to a HUGE problem with our federal courts.
Schumer spoke after the Judicial Conference of the United States -- which is made up of federal judges and help creates the rules around how our federal courts work -- recently voted to approve a policy of "random case assignment" in an effort to stop far-right activists from picking and choosing the judges they want to file cases for .
Well, Majority Leader Schumer got a response, and it wasn't what any of us were looking for. The chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas -- the main court where the GOP goes to get the ultra-conservative judges they want to rule their way on things -- wrote Schumer a letter that said they planned to ignore the new policy and keep right on accepting cases the way they always have. Which is exactly what the extremists in the GOP want.
It's great that the Judicial Conference is trying this new policy, but there's really only one direct solution: Nominating and confirming progressive judges who will treat the law fairly instead of these extreme MAGA-Trump judges that McConnell and his GOP cronies ramrodded through the confirmation process.
John: Protect our progressive Senate majority with $25 or whatever you can today so we can continue to block their extremist judge pipeline and protect our rights from more GOP assaults >>> [[link removed]]

We keep saying it because it's true -- Mitch McConnell fought for decades to appoint conservative judges for one key result: The GOP winning fringe court decisions that would never pass Congress or a state legislature.
For years they've targeted their filings to these handful of courts and judges controlled by Trump-appointed or McConnell-confirmed justices . Many of these cases end up at the door of the rigged Supreme Court. Their gameplan continues to be using the courts to deliver the results they wouldn't ever get otherwise.
We can't let MAGA Republicans continue to reshape the law for future generations of Americans. We need to end their conservative court pipeline before they go any further.
John: Fuel our work with $25 or more to make sure the Senate stays in Democratic hands and we get the progressive judges we desperately deserve >>> [[link removed]]
In the wake of Donald Trump's presidency, we've seen hard-right judges stacked on the Supreme Court, federal courts, and state courts across the country, delivering devastating rulings that have weakened voting rights, gun reforms, climate protections, and completely overturned abortion rights.
We must fight back and put more Democrats on the courts. [[link removed]]
The Senate is the only body which can confirm federal judges and as such, Democratic control of the Senate is crucial to shaping judicial appointments. We must ensure the Senate stays in Democratic hands in 2024.
And in the states, we must pour resources into often highly contested judicial races that get little attention, but that have a wide influence on the daily lives of Americans.
Progress Courts PAC is working every day to hold the Senate and help elect progressive judges across the country, and we need your help.
