Our fight to keep IL-17 blue in 2022 took every dollar we raised to win, and a big lesson we learned is that we need to build a war chest early to ward off the dark money attacks. In a swing district like ours, it’s so important that we don’t fall short. 

Here are a few more reasons why we can’t lose momentum:

* The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) listed me as one of the top targets they want to unseat. I am the only House member from Illinois added to their list, which means our race is poised to be the most competitive in the state.

* The analysts at Inside Elections have explicitly called out IL-17, and said we will remain "the most competitive House race in Illinois.”

* House Democrats designated me as a "Frontline" Democrat. The Frontline Program is how the national party signals to Democrats across the country that winning our race is essential in retaking  the House.

We’re facing a near-daily barrage of attacks that we can’t let go unanswered, and the reality is that it costs money to get our message out. We can’t accept falling short in a district as competitive as IL-17.
