Last night, Democrat Angela Alsobrooks won her U.S. Senate primary in Maryland. Today, I am asking you to donate to her campaign. Let me explain why this request is so important:

Angela is set to face the state's former governor, Larry Hogan, in what should be a closely contested campaign that could determine control of the Senate.

Because Angela just got out of a competitive primary against a self-funding candidate who spent almost $60m of his own money, she starts the general election with very little in the bank.

Meanwhile, Larry Hogan, her opponent, had very little opposition in his primary. We need to help Angela erase her Republican opponent's financial advantage.

Please do not mistake this race as an easy-win just because it's Maryland. Larry Hogan was elected governor twice, and very recently.

But if we can ensure Angela starts the general election off strong and has the resources to win, then I think she should.
