I have a long list of legislative priorities that I would prefer the House focuses on for the remainder of this Congress, but MAGA Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has other priorities in mind. Greene has been allowed to direct floor activity and has had an outsized influence on House Republican leadership.

In her latest attention-seeking political stunt, Rep. Greene called a motion to declare the office of the Speaker of the House vacant and remove Speaker Mike Johnson. Democrats overwhelmingly voted to table the motion and not force a vote. Democrats can’t be expected to keep cleaning up their mess.

I am running to represent CT-05 so that we can devote our limited time legislating to solving the urgent crises we face as a nation — not wasting that time on political stunts that do not serve our constituents.
