We have good news: A Republican operative’s targeted assault on our campaign failed.
In the final hours of filing week, a well-known conservative activist and the Washington State Republican Party’s ‘Volunteer of the Year’ recruited two other individuals with the name “Bob Ferguson” to run for Governor. He even paid their filing fees. But, wait, there is more — he bragged that he tried to recruit more Bob Fergusons, but ran out of time.
His goal? Sow confusion, diminish votes for our campaign, and undermine the integrity of our election.
My team delivered cease and desist letters to these unknown “Bob Ferguson” candidates to point out the illegality of their actions. Now it’s official: both fraudulent “Bob Ferguson” candidates dropped out.
Thankfully, Washingtonians won’t have to worry about which “Bob Ferguson” to vote for. This blatant attack on election integrity failed, and democracy won.
Dave Reichert didn’t have the guts to speak out against these outrageous attacks, until I called out his silence at a press conference on Monday.
