There's nothing like the pitter-patter of tiny paws scurrying across the floor to greet you the moment you walk in the house.

Over the years, Myrnie and I have been honored to welcome many furry family members into our home from our local Humane Society in Greenhill. Recently, we added another one. Meet Eduardo the cat.

Eduardo & Peter

Eduardo is roughly 10 years old, likes to snuggle for storytime, and still has the young spirit of a kitten to chase mice and yarn balls. All of us – even Mandy and Gimli – are excited to have him here at home with us!

Sheltering in place can be difficult, especially if you live alone. Having a furry friend can help maintain a daily routine, stay active, and stay connected. I'm excited to see many of you, like me, have added a friend to your life to help both of you get through these difficult times.

For those pets still waiting for a forever home, let's make sure they're not forgotten in this time of quarantine. Make a donation to the Greenhill Humane Society to keep our critters cozy.

Our pets are the best part of quarantine.

I'm proud to be a member of the House Veterinary Medicine Caucus. I'm proud to have fought against the use of predator toxin that kills our beautiful wildlife. And I'm especially proud of my 100+ score for my work on animal protection from the Humane Society Legislative Fund. I will continue to fight for animal welfare in Congress, to stop trophy imports and sales of shark fins, and protecting the habitats of endangered species.

Our pets have loved us unconditionally (and vice versa) and I'm grateful for their companionship. Please support other furry family-members-to-be by making a contribution today.
