John,
Last month, Congress voted to send $17 billion in bombs and ammunition to the Israeli military in the midst of a genocide that has killed more than 35,000 Palestinians, including more than 14,000 children.
I was one of 37 Democrats to vote against the funding of more death and destruction, and I need more allies by my side to continue to demand Congress stop supporting war crimes and instead invest in our communities’ needs like healthcare, clean water, housing, and education.
That’s why we need people in office like Dr. Pamela Pugh, who is running for an open congressional seat in what The Detroit News calls “among the most competitive congressional contests nationwide this year.”
Dr. Pugh is the only candidate in her Democratic primary to demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire. She is a leader for environmental justice and a water warrior, fighting for water as a human right from Flint to Gaza.
Pamela also fought for Detroit’s schoolchildren in the landmark Right to Literacy lawsuit, urging Michigan to guarantee students’ fundamental right to an education. As the President of the Michigan State Board of Education and the Chair of the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee for the National Association of State Boards of Education, she works each day for a quality education for all.
Join me in sending a donation directly to Dr. Pamela Pugh’s campaign for Congress today to help send a fierce advocate for marginalized communities to serve alongside me in Congress.

JOHN,
I need strong progressives by my side in Congress who understand how urgently our communities need transformative changes.
Dr. Pamela Pugh is running for an open seat in Michigan’s 8th Congressional District and is the only candidate in her Democratic primary to demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. The Detroit News calls this race “among the most competitive congressional contests nationwide this year.”
Some of Dr. Pugh’s opponents are centrists who have been handpicked by the Democratic establishment. Others are Republicans in this potential swing district. We don't need any more people in Congress who will continue the unjust status quo. With nearly 80% of Americans living paycheck to paycheck, we need representatives who will fight for our rights to clean water, housing, health equity, education, and more.
I’ve seen firsthand the work Dr. Pugh did to help clean up the Flint water crisis and support children who suffered from lead poisoning. She also fought for Detroit’s schoolchildren in the landmark Right to Literacy lawsuit, demanding quality education for all.
As the President of the Michigan State Board of Education, Dr. Pugh champions equitable and adequate funding for our public school system. And as a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of State Boards of Education, she serves as Chair of the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee.
Rush a donation to Pamela Pugh’s congressional campaign today and help send an advocate for marginalized communities to fight by my side in Congress.
Dr. Pugh has dedicated her life to helping everyday Michiganders. She is a water warrior who has consistently fought for water as a human right:
She is also the Chief Programs Officer for The Chisholm Legacy Project: A Resource Hub for Black Frontline Climate Justice Leadership. Pamela is fighting for investments in public education and environmental justice, not bombs and incarceration.
Dr. Pugh is a leader in our work to create a true multi-racial democracy where marginalized people and communities not only survive, but thrive.
Join me in supporting Dr. Pamela Pugh for Congress today and send a fighter for human rights to serve alongside me in Washington DC.
