Folks, 

Doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers are on the frontlines against the fight to contain COVID-19. Our frontline medical personnel are heroes and worthy of our utmost respect.

But our respect is not enough. Our medical professionals need the basic tools required to care for sick patients. And they don’t have it.

There’s been a massive shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, respirators and gowns. Our leaders need to take this seriously.

If we are asking these healthcare heroes to save our country from a global pandemic, then we must give them the equipment they need to protect themselves and their families.

In the House, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell voted for a bill that gave hundreds of billions of dollars of direct relief to hospitals and health care providers, including supplies that our healthcare workers need.

But we must do more: state and local governments, and the President, must act!
