John,
Democrats in Congress have rightfully sounded the alarm from the beginning about oversight of the $2 trillion stimulus package.
Because incompetence and corruption are guiding principles for the Trump administration, there are serious concerns about trusting them with few mechanisms for ensuring responsible management. The American people and small businesses struggling the most need help, and they need it as quickly as possible.
This isn’t a game, John. People are depending on the federal government's help to get through this, but instead they're being told that how the president disperses the $2 trillion in aid - and to whom - is none of their business.
Oversight means greater transparency and accountability to taxpayers. How the federal government supports struggling families, small businesses, as well as state and local governments, shouldn't be decided in secrecy. That wouldn't even be okay for an administration we could trust.
Thanks for taking action today.
