Hi all!
Looking back at a momentous event in our history can be an important way to measure just how far we have come — or not. Seventy years ago this week, the Supreme Court made a historic ruling, rejecting racial segregation in our nation’s schools. Alas, it was never that simple, and this week The Hechinger Report looks at the many repercussions and the backsliding, with a visual history, the latest research as well as some messages of hope. Take a look and tell us what you think.
This week, we also take you inside an effort by four-year schools to offer lower-cost two-year associate degree programs that can help students who need the most support, and continue our math coverage with a look at connecting math to culture, by making it more engaging and inclusive. There’s a lot more, so please spread the word: Sign up for our newsletters and become a member!
