Friend,
The war on drugs is immensely profitable – for some. In order to end the drug war, we have to follow the money to see who’s benefiting from criminalization and surveillance.
Register to join the Drug Policy Alliance for a virtual, four-part series as we take a deep dive into drug war profiteering!
We will explore how private and public companies, agencies, and organizations profit from the drug war, extract money and resources from people, and plunder entire communities. We’ll expose malfeasance across different systems — including treatment and recovery, housing, healthcare, and family policing (also known as the child welfare system) — to ultimately develop strategies to curb the influence of drug war profiteers.
- Session 1 on May 15, 1:00 - 2:30pm ET: Profiting from Treatment and Recovery
- Session 2 on May 22, 1:00 - 2:30pm ET: Profiting from So-Called Social Support Systems
- Session 3 on May 29, 1:00 - 2:30pm ET: Privatization and Profit in the War on Drugs
- Session 4 on June 5, 1:00 - 2:30pm ET: Curbing the Influence of Drug War Profiteers
We hope you will tune in as we examine strategies for interrupting drug war profiteering and returning money and power to local communities.
