What the extremists didn’t learn is that our power has grown, and our political movement is stronger. We are not the same people and movement from 2010.
We stayed in Arizona and have fought for our state to be different, for our state to be welcoming — we don't give up.
Here we are, once again, fighting extremist policies around immigration. The right is politicizing and fear-mongering towards immigrant, Latino, and other communities of color.
MAGA Republicans in our state legislature lost the fight to take away our reproductive freedom, so now they’re trying to take away the freedoms of immigrants — or people who they think look like immigrants.
We all know it: we need to reform our immigration system. That’s part of why I’m running for Congress. It breaks my heart that the next generation now has to fight the same attacks we won at the courts and the ballot box against SB 1070.
Now is not the time to take the foot off the pedal. This can be stopped. Juntos, sí se puede.
In solidarity,
Raquel Terán
