John,

John James is running an ad on Detroit TV touting “his” Social Security bill – and he is using YOUR tax dollars to pay for the ad.

That’s right – the guy who has millions of dollars in his campaign coffers from billionaires like Betsy Devos and the Koch brothers has decided that spending your hard earned money to promote a phony bill is a wise move. So much for fiscal responsibility!

As you probably know, at the end of every political ad there is a disclaimer as to who paid for it. And you can clearly see at the end of James’s ad, that this was paid for by his official House fund. Shameful!

He doesn’t want to spend his own campaign money to build his name recognition because he knows how vulnerable he is, and that he is going to need every penny of his millions to win this election in the fall. After all, he only won by 1,600 votes last cycle against a weak Democratic candidate and he knows that if a strong candidate such as myself wins the primary… He is in TROUBLE.

Let’s add to his fears today – chip in $5 to send a message we want an honest, real representative in MI-10. [ [link removed] ]

As far as this bill…

James introduced the bill during a fabricated crisis by Republicans to ensure that Social Security payments would continue if the debt ceiling was breached. The problem is, you cannot untangle Social Security from our debt ceiling. In fact, according to govtrack.com, it had a 1% chance of success. But it makes for a great TV ad.

Meanwhile, James and his Republican Study Group are promoting a strategy for Social Security that would actually CUT benefits to millions of retirees. You can see me debunk that plan [ [link removed] ], and know that Democrats have real solutions to protect our seniors.

As a financial planner, I understand real fiscal responsibility, and I guarantee that when we beat John James that I will run my office efficiently – so you get the most bang for your buck.

As we near the middle of our final FEC fundraising quarter before our primary, can you pay it forward to ensure we don’t have to deal with this hot air for another two years? [ [link removed] ]

Thank you,

Diane
