DHHS Spotlight: Certificate of Deafness for Tuition Waiver

HHSC Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (DHHS) administers the Certificate of Deafness for Tuition Waiver (CODTW) program. This program provides eligible students in Texas with a certificate that allows them to request public colleges, universities, and technical schools to waive their tuition fees. Eligibility criteria is listed on the application [ [link removed] ], available in both English and Spanish.

DHHS is pleased to announce the release of their brand new CODTW flyer, available in both English [ [link removed] ] and Spanish [ [link removed] ]. These resources can be shared with students and parents, educators, service providers, and others to spread awareness about the program.

The CODTW webpage [ [link removed] ] has also been updated to include new FAQs and a video in American Sign Language, including captions, giving an overview of the program and how to apply.
