This is appalling –

The NRA is in huge trouble – they are under investigation for tax fraud and just had to lay off more than 60 employees. They’re desperate for a win.

That’s why they just filed a lawsuit to keep gun stores open — despite the risk of spreading coronavirus. They tried arguing in a California court that gun stores are “essential” businesses that don’t need to temporarily close to protect public health.

But the court delivered a HUGE blow to the NRA:

The NRA’s claims to protect gun manufacturers’ profits during a pandemic are ridiculous. But here’s the bad news – they’re not done yet. The NRA is also suing the state of New York to force the governor to keep gun stores open – contrary to the advice of state officials.

The NRA will stop at nothing to sell more guns and protect the profits of the gun lobby — even if it puts our communities at risk. That’s why we’re doing everything we can to stop the NRA’s extremism in this time of crisis – and we urgently need your support. We need to raise $25,000 before our first April deadline tomorrow so we can keep defeating the NRA, but time’s running out and we’re still $9,890 short:

Please, will you give $5 or more now – whatever you can spare before our midnight deadline – to make sure we defeat the NRA and help protect people from gun violence across the country?

or decades, the NRA has spent hundreds of millions of dollars to stop every common-sense gun safety law Brady has proposed, but right now they’re in real financial trouble. They’re desperate for a win in court to show their wealthy donors that they are still a powerhouse - and we can’t let that happen.

Because of our tireless advocacy and action – and your support – we have the best chance ever to defeat the NRA once and for all. We know that an overwhelming majority of our country is already on our side, supporting everything from universal background checks to an assault weapons ban. That’s why we need to throw everything we’ve got to end the NRA’s stranglehold on our country. We have no time to waste if we want to end the era of gun violence in America – but we need to stop the NRA first:
