John: After a historic vote to oust Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy and a 3-week odyssey to find a new GOP leader, the MAGA far-right revolt in the House led us to an extremist in Mike Johnson.

"MAGA Mike" was a little-known Congressman from Louisiana who has championed election denial, gay conversion therapy, anti-abortion efforts, and other extreme causes. Even as a MAGA champion, there continues to be debate over how long he'll hold the gavel in the face of the deals he may need to make to keep the government open.

Case in point: Marjorie Taylor Greene has already introduced another "motion to vacate" because Speaker Johnson worked with Democrats to pass a budget.

In the wake of Donald Trump's presidency, we've seen hard-right judges stacked on the Supreme Court, federal courts, and state courts across the country, delivering devastating rulings that have weakened voting rights, gun reforms, climate protections, and completely overturned abortion rights.

We must fight back and put more Democrats on the courts.
