There's a good quote I heard from former University of Michigan quarterback, Tom Brady:
He said, "The fish don't just jump in the boat."
Meaning, the things you want don't just happen. You have to put in the work. I think that applies nicely to our race.
No matter what anyone may tell you, Michigan is a swing state – full stop. I am not going to win this Senate race just because there is a (D) next to my name on the ballot.
Just as we have swung toward Democrats in recent years, Michigan is known for swinging right on back. It was, after all, a few years ago that Donald Trump won here against Hillary Clinton.
The fish don't just jump in the boat.
I won't win this race without work.
But no one person can do it alone. I can only win if people like you who care contribute what you can toward our victory -- the resources we need to make it happen.
