Friends,
I will work hard in Congress to ensure that I am as strong a fighter as Sen. Peters for Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.
As I've said before, Democrats and Republicans must unite in the effort to stop the so-called modernization plan for the USPS in Kingsford.
Kingsford's service and that of all postal workers is crucial for the UP. These workers have done great work delivering our mail, and we rely on them for our connection.
Although the Postmaster General claimed that the modernization plan would reduce costs and improve mail delivery for Yoopers and across the country, many people, including myself, strongly disagreed.
The mounting bipartisan pressure from lawmakers, watchdogs, unions, citizens, and the postal service's own governing boards — all united in stating that USPS should halt its controversial reform plan to overhaul the agency, has led to a significant victory tonight. This is a testament to our collective strength and determination.
For months, the Postmaster General remained defiant and refused to pause. Today, Peters secured a pause.
But, we are not done yet.
We must continue to demand the Postal Regulatory Commission can thoroughly assess its impacts on Yoopers. Our fight is far from over, but with your continued support, we can make a difference.
Your support, generosity, and loyalty are not just appreciated; they are crucial. They can help me get to Congress so I, too, can hold those who aren't looking out for our shared interests to account.
Onward,
-Bob
