John -

Tomorrow, oil giant Chevron will be announcing its financial earnings —
while it rakes in huge profits directly tied to Israel's prolonged attack
on Gaza.

The Israeli government has been speeding up its plans to sell more and
more dirty LNG to fund its ongoing destruction of life and land in Gaza.
Now Chevron is making big investments in offshore oil fields in the area
to boost fossil gas production in order to make it happen.^1

It’s unconscionable that the quest for fossil fuel profits is exacerbating
the destruction. That’s why as we continue to fight to take down the
fossil fuel industry, 350 is partnering with Common Defense to demand that
Chevron immediately divest from Israeli LNG infrastructure expansion and
STOP its complicity in this genocide.

John, Netanyahu’s
administration has besieged Gaza, cruelly limiting supplies of fuel and
energy as well as destroying renewable energy infrastructure — which has
contributed to the unfolding genocide and accompanying humanitarian
crisis. On record, 35,000 Palestinians have been killed, 75,000 have been
injured, and 85% of the population has been displaced from their
homes.^2,3

And with recent investments in oil fields in the Eastern Mediterranean
over the past year, Chevron has already profited at the expense of human
lives in Gaza.

Chevron massively profited from expanding fossil gas extraction and export
here in the United States at the expense of vulnerable and marginalized
communities on the Gulf Coast and Indigenous lands. Now, they stand to do
the same as the Israeli government insists on funding its ongoing
destruction in Gaza.

We’ve already seen how oil and gas have fueled conflicts across the globe,
and we’re witnessing it again as the Israeli government and fossil fuel
companies like Chevron are positioning themselves to further profit from
the devastation and further displacement of Palestinian people. And the
last thing Chevron wants is for the public to find out.

In the face of human suffering, we must take action and call out the
fossil fuel companies profiting from war and conflict across the globe —
and continue to push for a world beyond fossil fuels.

That’s why 350.org will have people on the ground on May 15 to publicly
deliver our petition calling on Chevron to stop investing in Israel’s
fossil gas infrastructure expansion.

[ [link removed] ]Will you add your name before we deliver our petition to help us expose
Chevron and pressure the oil giant to stop profiting from genocide?

In solidarity,

- Team 350
