John, it's Ted Terry. This month, I've been highlighting all the important county-level races for progress going on in DeKalb – but there's one statewide race on the May 21 ballot that could redefine our freedoms in Georgia.

John Barrow, a 5 term Congressman and progressive champion is running for State Supreme Court to protect the rights of ALL Georgians.

State Supreme Courts have been on the news a lot lately – and not for good reason. Last year in Georgia, the court upheld a six-week abortion ban. Nextdoor in Alabama, the court decided that frozen embryos are considered people – endangering IVF and family planning for folks in the state.

And it's not getting better at the federal level either: Justices are making headlines for accepting undisclosed gifts, not recusing themselves from cases where they have close relationships with participants, and imposing increasingly partisan decisions on cases with longstanding precedents.

But that's not even the worst part: John's opponent, Justice Andrew Pinson, 1️⃣ clerked for the aforementioned justices accused of misconduct and 2️⃣ was Georgia's chief appellate lawyer in the Dobbs vs Jackson case that overturned Roe V. Wade!

These Justices have already made it clear what they intend to do in the future, and given the coordinated effort in the judicial system to avoid electing new justices, we've got to make sure we have our say on Election Day.

John, this next election might be a primary for candidates like me, but the judicial candidates won't be on the ballot this fall. This May is our only opportunity to start changing things on our State Supreme Court. John, could you please split a donation today between me and John Barrow?

Thank you,
Ted Terry
