Something that struck me the other day was that the media headlines kept
referring to Biden’s “fiery speech” or a “fiery Joe Biden” as he attacks
Republicans and lies to win re-election.

I’ve been through the fire (receiving burns over 30% of my body in a roadside
bomb explosion in Afghanistan).

If anyone’s going to go into D.C. and not be afraid to push back against the
status quo, it’s me.

I don’t want to be a disruptive guy just for the sake of being disruptive. But
our politicians better get their priorities straight and remember who they’re
representing or else they’re going to have to reckon with people like me, who
they can’t hide from.

This applies to Republicans too, by the way. I’m not a political person. I’m
an outsider. I’m going to call out the career politicians and stick up for
everyday Americans, whether they like it or not.

This is not a time for status quo legislating. Now is the time for
fire-tested, battle-proven leadership.

I will stand in the fire. I will take the flames. I will fight for YOU every
day in the United States Senate. You have my word.
