Team,
Growing up in Texas, my dream was to work in the film industry. I always loved movies, and I spent my high school years doing plays, musicals, and video production. I dreamed of studying theater in college and worked hard in my classes to make it happen — graduating as valedictorian in 2012.
Even though I auditioned for several theater schools, I was unable to accept admission to any of them because I was undocumented.
But soon after, immigrant youth won DACA! Because of that, I was able to attend the University of Texas and study theater and filmmaking.
It wasn’t always easy. I often felt alone, as one of the only students writing and producing stories with immigrant and LGBTQ protagonists. However, my UWD community always had my back and helped me feel less alone.
People have been looking out for me my whole life. My parents worked incredibly hard to give me and my siblings a better life. When I was in high school, there were organizers and movement leaders fighting for my rights — unbeknownst to me. They cared for me and my story without ever having met me. Now, I’m honored to pick up that fight and support all immigrants and their stories, whether they realize it or not.
That’s why I’m coming to you today. UWDA fights for all immigrants and their stories, and our work is powered by the support of our community — that means folks like you! Our grassroots fundraising efforts are incredibly important, because they power all the work we’re able to do to advance immigrants’ rights.
So, if you are able, can you make a contribution of any amount today to support United We Dream Action’s work? We’re relying on your support.

I’m proud to know so many immigrants from all walks of life, and I’m inspired to fight for the liberation and freedom of immigrants and all people.
Thanks,
