Governor to Celebrate Veterans Talking to Veterans Graduation at Free Veterans Fair in Dubois

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – May is Military Appreciation month, when we honor current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces. To honor those who have served, Governor Gordon will attend the Veterans Talking to Veterans Graduation Ceremony at the free Veterans Fair on May 25 at the National Museum of Military Vehicles in Dubois.

Veterans Talking to Veterans (VTTV) is a free weekly program held both in-person and online that features coaching groups led by trained VTTV coaches. At the sessions, veterans are invited to share their experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Veterans are also trained to become certified trauma-informed coaches, allowing them to provide mental health support for their fellow veterans and their families. The program has recently expanded into 12 communities, including the Department of Corrections. The Governor will be speaking and bestowing diplomas on the 18 graduating VTTV coaches at the event.

“Addressing veteran suicide and the mental health struggles of our veterans has been on ongoing priority of my administration,” Governor Gordon said. “The Veterans Talking to Veterans program has been a source of strength and support for those who have given their lives to our country, and I look forward to recognizing those who are helping grow this program throughout Wyoming.”

The Veterans Fair is dedicated to supporting veterans and their families – health, career, connection, suicide prevention, and other resources for veterans will be available, along with family fun including demonstration of tanks in operation and rides in military vehicles. A full schedule is available at https://nmmv.org/vttv.php. For additional information on the VTTV program, email [email protected].
