Dear friends,
The opioid crisis here at home can no longer be ignored. Based on recent data from the State of Michigan, it is clear that our community is a significant part of the national picture.
In 2021 alone, Wayne County witnessed 821 overdose deaths out of Michigan's total of 2,539. These figures highlight the significant impact within our state, with Michigan contributing 3.39% of the nationwide overdose deaths. Each of these numbers represents another precious life lost, and we must join together and act now to provide the critical resources needed to save them. This is precisely why ACCESS is responding with the establishment of a new, cutting-edge, culturally and linguistically inclusive substance use disorder treatment center, tailored to the unique needs of our community. We recently launched a campaign intending to raise $250,000 in funds, but we need your help to reach our goal.
Your support is crucial in making this powerful vision become a reality. Please join us in the spirit of collective giving to brighten the futures of countless individuals, transforming our community into a place where there is hope for recovery.
One life, one step, one day at a time.
