Help End the Cruelty at Puppy Mills! ([link removed])
[link removed]

Friend,

Dogs and puppies need your urgent help. ([link removed]) Nearly 2,500 U.S. Department of Agriculture-licensed dog breeding facilities, known as puppy mills, operate in the U.S. today. Many of these facilities have continuously violated federal and state laws and are only in the business to churn out puppies for profit. Documentation has found animals living in horrifying conditions: living on bare concrete, many without access to clean water, some lying in their own feces.

We’re working to save as many dogs as we can. The animal rescue team at the Humane Society of the United States has been actively intervening at mills around the country. But we want to stop the cruelty at puppy mills before it even starts.

That’s why we’re fighting to pass legislation like the Better CARE for Animals Act, but we need your help to pass this legislation and save more animals’ lives. Please donate now to help stop suffering and abuse at puppy mills and end animal cruelty of all kinds. ([link removed])

The Humane Society Legislative Fund is working on several fronts to stop the horrific cruelty of puppy mills. The Better CARE for Animals Act will provide federal agencies the tools to better collaborate to enforce the Animal Welfare Act, allowing them to step in earlier and save the lives of animals suffering in puppy mills, research facilities and roadside zoos. By supporting our legislative and policy efforts, you can help us save the lives of puppies and all animals and relieve their suffering before it’s too late.

We’re also working to pass the Puppy Protection Act, which will drastically improve the quality of life of dogs in USDA-licensed breeding facilities by requiring stronger standards of care as well as imposing breeding limits and ensuring breeders make reasonable efforts to rehome retired breeding dogs instead of discarding or killing them.

But we can’t do this work without you. We need your help to stop the needless suffering of tens of thousands of dogs in USDA-regulated puppy mills that sell to pet stores and online.

Please make a donation of $20 or more now to help us protect puppies, end the cruelty of large-scale breeding operations and power all of our work to save animals’ lives. ([link removed])

Thank you,
