Earlier this month, Donald Trump came to Michigan for his fifth time in 10 months and tore into Elissa directly by name, calling her a “far left liberal lunatic.”

That’s right: “a far left liberal lunatic.”

It’s not the first time that Trump has attacked Elissa personally and lied about her record, and it won’t be the last.

Trump's rant is a sign that Elissa and this particular Senate race have gotten under Trump’s skin. Because he knows what we know: to win the presidency, you have to win in Michigan.

More likely than not, the party that wins this Senate race will also be the one to win the White House.
