Friend,
Connecting veterans and military families to opportunities for meaningful employment, education, and overall wellness has been crucial to Easterseals’ mission since 1945.
Our recent report on disabled veterans and employers highlights the unique challenges that many veterans continue to face as they transition from service to civilian life.
In particular, veterans with disabilities encounter barriers to finding appropriate employment and advance in their careers. Many veterans are underemployed and find it difficult to make ends meet. This has a significant impact on mental health and job security. A strong support system is crucial to any life transition, and yet there are more than 6.5 million unpaid caregivers of veterans. Military caregivers also experience similar career challenges to the veteran population.
