Big Jack,
I’m sure by now you’ve heard about what happened at UVA.
Campus rules are necessary to keep students safe, and UVA officials were right
to prioritize the public safety of all students and enforce the law on Saturday.
After being given several opportunities to comply, protestors – many of whom
were not students – broke university policy and, in some cases, assaulted law
enforcement.

Individuals who knowingly disregarded administrative rules and policies,
receiving warning after warning, were correctly held accountable.
We will protect the 1st Amendment AND maintain law and order on the
Commonwealth’s college campuses.
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: Virginia is not New York or
California — here, we hold individuals accountable for their actions.
