Hi John,

In just one week, 30,000 people have pledged to ditch all Dove products this year - an overwhelming response that comes after Dove failed to commit to ending their toxic plastic pollution.

Dove think they can continue dumping billions of super-polluting plastic sachets on marginalised communities – choking our oceans, killing our wildlife, and fuelling an environmental disaster.

By ditching their products, we’re showing Dove that our people-powered movement won’t stand for it. But to truly make Dove feel the impact of our collective action, we need to get at least 50,000 people to pledge to Ditch Dove before the end of the week. So please can you add your name now?

Take a look at my email last week if you want to know just how important taking this pledge is.

Thank you for everything you do,

Tom Steadman

PS. If you want a more detailed account of why Greenpeace is asking supporters to ditch Dove, read this blog on our website.

--------------------------------------------------------------

John, your actions are making a real difference.

As you read this, Greenpeace activists are taking your open letter, signed by nearly 140,000 people, to Dove’s biggest shareholder meeting of the year.

Your signature shows Dove the strength of our people-powered movement. It tells them that we’re not going to tolerate their toxic plastic pollution anymore.

But our work is far from over. Despite our efforts, world leaders at the recent UN Global Plastics Treaty negotiations FAILED AGAIN to commit to a comprehensive ban on single-use plastics. This is largely due to pressure from plastic-loving lobbyists, and Dove’s CEO, Hein Schumacher, who still refuses to ban super-polluting plastic sachets [1].

Dove want to continue business as usual, pumping out billions of throwaway plastics that harm people and the planet. But we won't let them get away with it [2].

That’s why we’re cranking up the heat this summer - and asking supporters like you to commit to avoiding all Dove products this summer. By hitting them where it hurts - their profits and reputation - we'll show them that TOXIC single-use plastic is TERRIBLE for business.

Greenpeace activists just disrupted Dove and Unilever’s biggest shareholder meeting of the year to let their chief execs know that we’ve had enough of their bull****.

Dove and Unilever are co-opting feminist language to promote plastic products made from petrochemicals. They’ve spent decades spreading disinformation and false claims that recycling can control plastic waste when the truth is only cutting production will.

We can’t tolerate their lies anymore. So we’ve just launched the pledge to damage their clean brand and make their boardroom panic. If enough people sign this pledge, it shows their board just how serious the public is about Dove’s plastic pollution. Every signature shows Dove that throwaway single-use plastic is damaging for business - so please add your name now!

We know people power can win – it was Greenpeace supporters like you adding their names to petitions in 2014 that forced Lego to end their toxic partnership with Shell [3]. Now we want Dove to end their toxic partnership with plastic.

We don’t normally ask our supporters to stop buying all the products of a single brand. But this is just too important. We need to go big. That’s why we’re cranking up the heat this summer - and asking you to Ditch Dove. Are you in?

In solidarity and hope,

Tom Steadman
