Hi John,
Advocates for Youth has long-provided our sex education curriculum, Rights, Respect, Responsibility (3Rs), at no cost to schools serving grades K through 12. It is medically accurate, age-appropriate, and fully inclusive and affirming of LGBTQ+ youth, all while meeting the 16 criteria set out by the CDC for effective sex education.
To date more than 3,000 educators have been trained to implement the 3Rs curriculum which is used in more than 500 school districts across the country, reaching more than 5 million students each year.
At the same time, we know schools aren't always able to provide the level of LGBTQ+ inclusion we know is most effective, so we also go directly to where young people are online. Our AMAZE program is composed of more than 200 LGBTQ+ inclusive and affirming short, animated and often humorous videos designed specifically for young people to help them navigate puberty, relationships, and sexuality. The videos also feature gender expansive youth and same-sex couples so LGBTQ+ youth feel included and valued in the lessons. AMAZE videos have been viewed more than 70 million times via the AMAZE website and YouTube channel, and now they are even being used by schools and health care facilities across the country.
Advocates for Youth is a national nonprofit working to protect
young people’s sexual reproductive health and ensure their rights.
