Trump praises "late, great" fictional serial killer Hannibal Lecter during rally speech
During one of his signature, definitely-not-a-cult pep rallies in New Jersey over the weekend, the serially indicted ex-president praised the "late, great" fictional serial killer Hannibal Lecter "as a wonderful man" before segueing into comments disparaging and dehumanizing migrants trying to enter the United States to seek a better life. Trump also bragged about being indicted more times than the "great Alphonse Capone." You really do get the feeling the serial sex pest consistently and maniacally roots for the bad guy in literally any scenario, real or imagined, don't ya?

The serially indicted fraudster is suspected of double-dipping on massive tax breaks — to the tune of $100 million dollars plus penalties, fees, and interest. Turns out the feds frown on that sort of thing. Brian Tyler Cohen and Glenn Kirschner break down the damning details in plainspeak.

Sec. of State Blinken delivers some of the strongest US public criticism of Israel’s conduct of the war in Gaza
Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday delivered some of the Biden administration’s strongest public criticism yet of Israel’s conduct of the war in Gaza, saying Israeli tactics have meant “a horrible loss of life of innocent civilians” but failed to neutralize Hamas leaders and fighters and could drive a lasting insurgency. Blinken underscored that the United States believes Israeli forces should “get out of Gaza” but also is waiting to see credible plans from Israel for security and governance in the territory after the war. Hamas has reemerged in parts of Gaza, Blinken said, and “heavy action” by Israeli forces in the southern city of Rafah risks leaving America’s closest Mideast ally “holding the bag on an enduring insurgency.” Israel’s offensive has killed more than 35,000 Palestinians in the seven months of war that followed the Hamas terror attacks on October 7.

Former fixer Michael Cohen set to take the stand in Trump's porn star hush money trial
Cohen, the star prosecution witness in Donald Trump’s hush money trial, is set to take the stand Monday with testimony that could help shape the outcome of the first criminal case against an American president. The one-time Trump fixer is expected to testify about his role in arranging hush money payments on the serially indicted con man's behalf during his first presidential campaign, including to porn actor Stormy Daniels, who told jurors last week that the $130,000 that she received in 2016 was explicitly meant to prevent her from going public about a sexual encounter she had with Trump in California in 2006, when his wife Melania was home caring for their then-newborn son, Barron.

MAGA radio station owner unloads on ousted ex-host Rudy Giuliani
The former Mayor of America and one-time Trump henchman is such an insufferable, unpredictable liability that even MAGA-loving, hate-spewing, right-wing talk radio stations are done with him. After yanking Rudy off the air last week for, again, incessantly barking about Trump's thoroughly debunked Big Lie, WABC station boss John Catsimatidis said the obvious part out loud: "It’s pretty hard to bring him back. His behavior makes it very hard to reverse course. He makes it hard not to terminate him." All well and good, but how the hell was Giuliani viewed as anything other than unhirable in the first place?
MSNBC host exposes "fringe group" that has seized control over GOP under Trump
Ayman Mohyeldin hit the giant, racist nail on the head in his scathing summary of the GOP in 2024, laying out Donald Trump's unrelenting, yearslong efforts to normalize the alt-right movement and bring white nationalism into the mainstream. "It’s not the alt-right anymore. It’s just the right.”
