Friend,
Yesterday, we celebrated the importance of mothers and motherhood in our lives and recognized the challenges many mothers have faced in balancing work and family responsibilities. For too long, working mothers have been forced to make impossible choices between caring for their families and earning a living to support them.
This year, let's commit to fighting for policies that support working mothers and families – one of the most crucial being Paid Leave for All. No mother should have to worry about losing income or her job because of needing time off to care for a newborn, a sick child, or an aging parent.
Paid leave isn't just good for mothers—it's good for families, businesses, and our economy as a whole. Studies have shown that paid leave policies keep women in the workforce, allowing them to build their careers. It also reduces employee turnover, boosts productivity, and improves employee morale. It's a win-win for everyone.
But despite the overwhelming evidence of its benefits, the United States remains one of the only developed countries in the world without a national paid leave policy. This is unacceptable, and it's time for Congress to take action.
That's why I'm reaching out to you today. We can pass paid leave for all with a Democratic majority back in the House. If we win back the House this November, we can ensure that no mother is forced to choose between her job and her family, and that every family has the support they need to thrive.
