Ms. Nontando Ndhlovu will discuss the establishment of a transitional justice framework in Zimbabwe and reiterate the urgent need to include women’s voices in reconciliation and peacebuilding processes. Drawing on lessons from transitional justice processes in Columbia and Liberia, the conversation will propose policy recommendations to amplify women’s voices in advancing sustainable peace in Zimbabwe.

Drawing on ethnographic research with the post-Soviet LGBTQ immigrant community in New York City, Title VIII Research Scholar Alexandra Novitskaya will present research on the effects of the US-Russia geopolitical competition of exceptionalism on the lives of ordinary LGBTQ people who became exiled "queer dissidents."

H.E. Amb. Y. M. Tuggar joins us at the Wilson Center for a conversation following the recently concluded sixth US-Nigeria Binational Commission (BNC). Established in 2010, the BNC is a premier platform to promote strategic dialogue between the governments of the US and Nigeria to expand cooperation and advance shared goals. The Minister will share his insights on US-Nigeria partnership in the changing global arena and discuss Nigeria’s new foreign policy vision focused on strengthening areas of democracy, development, demography, and diaspora engagement.
