Dream Deferred: The Urgent Need to Protect Immigrant Youth ([link removed])
Statement of Jessica M. Vaughan before the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, May 8, 2024

Summary: It would be a grave mistake for Congress to give consideration to an amnesty, either for DACA recipients or any other group of illegal aliens, at this time - when the government does not have operational control of the border and is catching and releasing illegal migrants on a mass scale.

Iran and the Alien Enemies Act ([link removed])
By George Fishman, May 7, 2024
Excerpt: The president could utilize the Alien Enemy Act’s detention and removal powers against Iranian nationals (or a subset thereof) as necessary should the United States enter into a declared war with Iran, or should Iran perpetrate or attempt a terrorist attack (or likely even an assassination or assassination attempt) on American soil. The president could also potentially utilize these powers against Lebanese nationals (or a subset thereof) should Hezbollah engage in such acts, but only if Hezbollah could be found to qualify as a “foreign government”.

Why Biden’s Gaza refugee plan is a hard hell no ([link removed])
By Todd Bensman
New York Post, May 7, 2024
Excerpt: But in the end, Gazans must be regarded as too great a national security threat for a US humanitarian gambit. By all means, do facilitate their exits to friendlier and safer neighborhoods in the region. Provide humanitarian aid. Arrange for medical treatment elsewhere. Send doctors on the US Navy’s Mercy hospital ship. But importing them into the United States as refugees? These are not the people, and this is definitely not the time.

Barbara Jordan’s Prescription for Fixing Immigration — and Our National Despair ([link removed])
By Andrew R. Arthur
Excerpt: The national media is full of pictures of a country pulling itself apart: campus protestors clashing with police; the addicted camped on street corners; and of course, migrants pouring over an insecure border. It’s little wonder Americans see a future full of dread and despair.
Opening the Door to Palestinian Refugees from Gaza? ([link removed])
By Nayla Rush
Excerpt: Under new “private sponsorship” programs, Palestinian refugees from Gaza could be selected and brought into American communities and campuses by newly resettled refugees and other newcomers – those could be family members, friends, or simply activists.

‘Refugees’ from Gaza ([link removed])
By George Fishman
Excerpt: Gazans by and large support Hamas, one of the most vile and deadly terrorist organizations in the world, engage in atrocity denial, support terrorism against Israel, and likely share a widespread resentment of the United States.
