It's been another busy week in TX-23 and Washington, D.C. I am proud to serve our district in Congress. Each day, I work to address your concerns and protect our liberties. From helping you navigate federal casework to advocating for your priorities, my team and I are always here to help. Congressman Gonzales in Monahans, TX at a press conference about oil theft in West Texas. Combating Organized Crime On Friday, I hosted a roundtable about the rise in oilfield theft across West Texas. I was joined by the FBI, DPS, sheriffs, and law enforcement from across the region. Together, we are working to improve task force operations so we can stop organized crime in the area. PICTURED: Congressman Gonzales, roundtable participants in Monahans on Friday. Delivering For Our District This week, I submitted fifteen congressional funding requests to support projects across TX-23. From establishing new community centers to improving law enforcement equipment, this funding would greatly improve quality of life and public safety across our district. During my tenure in Congress, I have secured over $100 million for improvements that directly benefit our communities. I take great pride in using our taxpayer dollars responsibly and ensuring these funds have a tangible impact across Texas' 23rd Congressional District. Connecting San Antonio to the Nation's Capital With this week's Senate passage of the FAA reauthorization bill, we are one step closer to delivering a new direct flight from San Antonio to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. This is a big win for Military City USA, which is home to thousands of service members and civilian employees. Having direct access to the U.S. Capitol Building, the Pentagon, and other federal agencies would be a game changer for the San Antonio community. I worked hard to support the authorization of this new flight service and I look forward to voting YES on the House version of this legislation in the coming days. Fighting Biden's Green New Deal Agenda On the House floor this week, I introduced an amendment that will protect American communities from President Biden's rush-to-green agenda that is burdening Americans with high energy costs. The Biden administration has NO right to determine what appliances are used in YOUR home. Click here to watch Congressman Gonzales' floor speech.
