In most states, there’s a system called democracy, where people are elected to the state legislature to represent constituents and held accountable for their successes or failures at the ballot box.

Wisconsinites haven’t lived in a state like that for a long time.

When Republicans won a trifecta in 2010, one of their first orders of business was to rig our state with one of the worst partisan gerrymanders in the country – effectively taking away our right to hold our “representatives” accountable.

Since then, the WisGOP has used their gerrymandered majorities to:

• Block funding to clean up forever chemicals and ensure safe drinking water
• Prevent us from addressing the opioid crisis and save lives
• Jeopardize our university system
• Prevent rural hospitals from staying open
